We are delighted to introduce you to one of our Women’s Business School graduates Kathy Hubble, founder of Amelio Health.

When did you start your business?

We launched on 29th Jan 2020, however development started in Feb 2018.

What was the inspiration behind starting this business?

After working in chronic pain management for 20 years and then in insurance, I was frustrated at how many people were suffering from chronic pain, and the enormous costs involved with this burden worldwide.

What are you most excited about in your business?

We are achieving amazing results for people suffering from chronic pain who are on claim in Australia and the United Kingdom. We are finding the live wearable data and validated questionnaires are proving to be very powerful in nudging and changing behaviour.

What has been the most challenging thing about starting your business?

Keeping track of the numbers and making sure we stay viable, while building a great product.

What advice would you give to other women thinking about starting a business?

Don’t worry too much if your product is not perfect to start with, just get in and start and build perfection as you learn about what your market wants and needs.

Why did you choose to do the Women’s Business School Programs?

I wanted something that was not controlled by the male dominated corporate world. Something that could help me with building my skills as well as recognising the frustrations for women in the entrepreneurial space.

What did you enjoy the most about being part of the program?

I loved the connections with other women who have had substantial success in the area that I have launched into. I also loved the diversity of people in the group and the companionship we found in traveling on the same journey. The problems were the same even though our businesses were different.

What surprised you most about the program?

I was most surprised at how setting goals and achieving them was so helpful in making the steps I needed to make at certain times.

Which module was the most helpful and why?

Knowing your numbers is crucial, and this was the most valuable module to me. It meant I was always in control of expenditure and income. Making sure we were always viable and could then scale and meet demands.

How did the program help you in your business?

The module on automation of processes has been extremely helpful in allowing us to scale, and this was crucial for us to expand as well as providing a personalised service.

Winning 2 Gold Awards has been absolutely amazing, and has been an essential part of our marketing campaign. We have then received multiple write-ups about our business in the media and circles we are operating in.

What has been the best thing about starting your own business?

I think that the best thing is the feedback from the clients who have used our service, and the outstanding publicity they have created for us with their feedback on social media. Word of mouth from actual customers is priceless.

Would you recommend the Women’s Business School to other women starting a business? Why?

I would definitely recommend the Women’s Business School to every woman starting a business. The skills and connections you gain are priceless and will set you up perfectly to achieve all your goals and more.

What’s happening next in your business?

We are currently doing a massive rewrite of our content after stretching the life out of our MVP. We have now learned from our data what works for people and what doesn’t, so we can really focus out attention on the content that is changing behaviour and improve our already great outcomes.

What are your big plans for the future?

We plan to expand our presence in the Australian and United Kingdom markets and then launch in the USA in 2022.
